GOODISON: Douglas Harold -

On Friday, June 30, 2017 the Goodison Family lost a great man. Born December 2, 1935, Doug was the beloved husband of Mary (Pokornik) with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage. He is also survived by three children, Diane (Rick), Ken (Jen) and Jenna.

Loving Grandpa to Bryan (Julie), Stacey (Mike), Suprina (Brad), Krystal, Tyler (Sam), Chelsea (Brendan), Dallas, Brooke and Ethan.

Great-Grandpa to Emma, Evie, Miley, Tyrese, Tyzon, Logan and Owen.

Predeceased by his parents Harold and Velma (nee LaMarsh), sister Gayle Taylor, brother Gary and brother-in-law Gary Taylor. Survived by sister-in-law Mary Anne.

Predeceased by brother-in-law Jerry Pokornik. Survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Henry and Phyllis Pokornik, Frank and Olga Pokornik, Shirley Pokornik, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Sandals.

Doug was a lifetime commercial fisherman who ran his own business: Goodison Fisheries. He was recognized with several awards, including the Fisherman of the Year and the Jack Corbett Award by the Ontario Commercial Fisherman's Association of which he was President. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and many types of games, but mostly he enjoyed the many cruises he and Mary had taken.We will miss his stories.

Cremation has taken place and a Private Family Service will be held. A Celebration of Life and perch dinner will be held at Molly and OJ's, Erieau on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.

Donations made in memory of Doug to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
