Obituary of Bill 'Boo' Keenan

KEENAN: William Douglas Sulman 'Boo' -

A resident of Sombra, and formerly of London and Chatham, Bill Keenan passed away at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the age of 74. 

Born in Chatham, Bill was the son of the late William and Jacqueline (Sulman) Keenan. 

Beloved husband of 52 years to Ruth Ann (nee Ingram).

Loving father of Kevin Keenan (Kelly Ann Randall) of Tecumseh, Kerri Lyn Woods (Lionel) of Ottawa, Kendra Costa (Nelson) of Ingersoll and Kent Keenan of Port Stanley. 

Proud Papa of Nolan, Kennedy, Keenan, Liam, Owen, Reegan, Ethan and Rowan. 

Dear brother of Pat Keenan (Sharon) of Port Stanley. Brother-in-law to Janice Vowles (Brian) of Chatham and Bob Ingram (Janice) of Ridgetown. Predeceased by brothers-in-law John Ingram (Eva) and Dick Ingram (late Ann).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Bill retired from his career after over 40 years as a travelling salesman for Lac-Mac.  He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, skiing and travelling with his family and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bill was a member of the Highland Country Club, the Schalamar Creek Golf and Country Club in Florida, and the Mooretown Golf Club. He was a member of the Canadian Professional Sales Association, a former board member of the Cystic Fibrosis golf tournament and a former member of theRoyal Canadian Legion. Bill always enjoyed his time out on the boat, and after his retirement he achieved his dream of settling down in a house by the St. Clair River and spending his winters in Lakeland, Florida. 

A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 81 Selkirk Street, Chatham at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018 with Rev. Mark Sceviour officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 463 St. Clair Street, Chatham. Interment to be held Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 10:30am at Riverside Cemetery, Sombra. 

Donations made in memory of Bill to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
