Obituary of Jim Storey
Storey: James Richard 'Jim' -
A resident of Chatham, Jim Storey passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on July 21, 2019 at the age of 83.
Born in Barrie Ontario, Jim was the son of the late Horace Storey and Lillian (Akers) Storey.
Beloved husband of the late Emelie Storey (2017).
Sadly missed by his loving Daughters, Cheryl Storey (Dave) of Kingston, and Tracy and Daniel Hoffman of Chatham, Step Father to Jane and William Jr. Knight of Blenheim, and Timothy Trinacty of Blenheim.
Loving Grandpa to Eric Hoffman and Taylor Hoffman, Megan (Adam) Watorek, Alexander Knight and 2 Great Grandchildren Peyton and Brody Watorek.
Survived by eldest brother William (Ruth) Storey and sister Dorothy (the late Ed) Leach both of Lindsay, ON. Predeceased by brother Edward (Marg) Storey.
Jim was an avid Hunter and long time member of Ducks Unlimited and the Rod n Gun Club. In his later years he enjoyed painting and writing poetry in his spare time.
Special thank you to his long time friends Glen and Jill Meredith from Thamseville, Dr. Sherry Roszell and Megan Watorek from the Thamesview Family Health Team, Nurse Brittany from the CKHA 4th floor medicine and special nephew Rick (Annie) Storey and their son Michael for your special visits.
Visitation for Jim will take place at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. in Chatham on July 24, 2019 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and July 25, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:00am with a service to follow on July 25, 2019 at 11:00am.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Donations made in memory of Jim to the Chatham Kent Health Alliance or the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
