Obituary of Lena Matilda Pickering

Pickering, Lena (nee Osborne) – formerly of McKays Corners, passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Thursday, March 26th, 2020 in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Pickering. Mother of son Jack and his wife Nancy of McKays Corners, daughter Anne and husband Jim Duffy of Sombra and daughter-in-law Beth Pickering of Komoka. Grandmother of Donna (Wayne) Rumble, Jackie, Julie, Derek (Sara); Debbie Vandenhende (Brian Campbell), Alyssa (Dylan) and Kendra; John (Carmon) Pickering, Austin, Carter, Everett; Denise (Steve) Ladd, McKenna, and Grayson; David (Margaret) Pickering, Kyle and Samantha; Becky (Scott) Turner, Lauren, Rachel; Randy (Christy) Duffy, Mya, Liam, Cole; Ryan (Sandy) Duffy, Abby (Ryan) Nap, Chloe, Samuel; Gordon (Stacey) Duffy, Tyler and Kara; and Lisa (Ben) Vanderveeken, Casey, Jesse, and Daynen. Great-great grandsons Warren and Nathan Rumble, and William Nap. Survived by her sister Kathy (Bert) Huiting, sister-in-law Gertrude (late Leonard) Pickering, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Donald, infant grandson Jamie, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters. Lena was a hard-working farmwife, gifted gardener, and talented quilter, who shared her creations with many friends and family through the years. Cremation has taken place.
