Stanski: Edmera Marie (nee King) -

A resident of Chatham, Edmera Stanski passed away at Riverview Gardens on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in her 91st year.

Born in Dover Township, Edmera was the daughter of the late Joseph and Philomene (Therrien) King.

Beloved wife of 55 years to the late Stanley Stanski (2005).

Loving mother of Sandra Eagen (Brian) of Wyoming, Debra McGrail (late Paul, 2020) and Mark Stanski (Jill) of Carlisle.

Predeceased by her daughter Patricia Hartford (2002).

Proud Meme to Jason (Danielle), Hayley (Curtis), and Jesse Hartford; Allison Thompson (Mike), Lyndsey King (Derek), Nick Eagen (Sunny); Erin (Al), Jamie and Jordan (Chris) McGrail; Jeff and Michael Stanski. Predeceased by granddaughter Jillian (1988) and grandson Drew (1993).

Great-Meme to Hannah, Ava, Jack, Dawson, Reid, Hunter, Sienna, Nadia, Trenton, Emma, Sarah, Jennaca, Cole and Brooklon (Serenity). Predeceased by great-grandson Jacob (2003).

Dear sister to Rita Bellaire (Al) and Gloria Benoit (late Joe). Sister-in-law to Jean Carey.

Predeceased by her siblings Armand King, Magdeleine Moore, Catherine Cadotte, Alice MacKenzie, Adelard King, Omer King, Cecile Trahan, Germaine Matthew, Helen Kereluik and infant brother Reginald.

Predeceased by in-laws Julia Wilson (Don) and Walter Stanski (Ann).

Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Thank-you to Riverview Gardens, especially second floor east staff and Peggy McCracken, for taking such good care of our Mom, especially during these last 4 months. You truly are special and we will be forever grateful.

Edmera worked at Chrysler during World War II, where she met her husband Stanley. When she was not home raising a family, she could often be found at the former Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 28 where she was active with the Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, baking, being with her family and playing various instruments including the piano, the harmonica and the spoons. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Stanley, following her favourite son all over the world.

Edmera will be remembered for her love for her grandchildren, her sense of humour and her beaming smile.

Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday, July 6, 2020. The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has mandated that everyone in attendance must wear a mask.
