Obituary of Bert Huys

Huys: Lambertus Wilhelmus Antonius -

A resident of Florence, Bert Huys passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital on April 5, 2021 at the age of 77. 

Born in Boekend, the Netherlands, Bert was the son of the late Antonius and Maria Huys (nee Van Stiphout). 

Beloved husband of 53 years to Julienne Huys (nee Wathy).

Loving father to Anthony (Jennifer) Huys, Bernadette Huys, David (Jodi) Huys, Jennifer (Jamie) Dance, and William (Lindsay) Huys.

Grandfather to Maya, Nathan, Grayce, Alida, Andrew, Emma, Katelyn, Katherine, Benjamin, Thomas, Steven, Alexander, Zoe, and Madelyn.

Brother to Tony, Martin, Peter, William, Maryanne, the late John, and the late Nelly.

Brother in law to Simone, Marion, Diana, Ronald, Maurice, Joseph, and the late Delores.

Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friends. 

A 4th degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Bert was a dedicated farmer who will be remembered for his love of family, his kind, considerate nature, as well as his dedication to Jesus and his Catholic faith.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.  A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday morning at 11am at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Ridgetown.  The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and available via the parish website (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-UrVWZVG21myxBxFLPOE4g).

Interment to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery,Thamesville.
