Today, funerals are more personal….they don’t have to be formal affairs. A funeral should be a celebration of life!

At McKinlay Funeral Homes, we ensure you get the exact style of funeral that is comfortable to you. Whether it’s a burial or cremation, choosing appropriate music, preparing newspaper notices or helping with legal requirements, we are here to guide and support you.

We are also able to refer you to professionals that offer specific, helpful services such as bereavement counselors.

Some of the services available to you:

• Full Service Tribute

This choice allows the family and/or the community the time needed to gather with the body present to recognize and celebrate the life of a person. A period of time, in the day(s) prior to the service of tribute is provided to the family to receive visitors. The service may be held at the funeral home or the location of choice. Burial or cremation may follow.

• Modified Tribute

This choice allows the family and/or community time to gather at the funeral home or location of choice with the body present. There may be a period of up to two hours to share memories prior to the tribute, which would be conducted immediately following the visitation period. Burial or cremation may follow.

• Direct Cremation/Burial Transfer

This choice allows for the basic service necessary to provide for the immediate disposition of the body in compliance with provincial laws.

• Cremation/Burial Transfer with Memorial Tribute

This choice allows the family and/or community to gather for a tribute at the funeral home or the location of choice. If cremation is selected, the cremated remains may or may not be present for the tribute.

• Gathering Followed by Burial/Cremation

This choice allows the family and/or community time to gather at the funeral home with the body present. Family will have the opportunity during the gathering period to receive visitors and share memories. Burial or cremation would immediately follow.

Our arrangement conference with you and your family can take place in our facility or in the comfort of your own home. This time together will enable us to record the personal wishes concerning the type of funeral services you require. A complete estimate of all related charges can be provided to you during this time.
