Marianne, Shawn & Family, We were so sorry to hear about your mom. She was such a dear person who really gave us our start as a young married couple when her and your dad sold us our first home on Ebenezer St over a cup of tea and a handshake. That speaks to the kind of people they were. Always remembered! Suanne & Scott

Jim and Joy, Bob and Anne, Janet and Jim, Marianne and Shawn and Aunt Audrey. Irene and I attended London Teachers College together. Aunt Audrey and Lyle had a boat as Don and I did We did a lot of boating and Water skiing together back in those days. Irene always had a smile and was always interested in having a visit when we met.She was such a pleasant genuine lady. Gord always came to sing at New Scotland when we did a cantata when I was leading the choir. I also met Grandma Vivian when I retired from teaching and joined Retired Teachers. So many memories to share. I am unable to attend visitation as I have a Doctor's appointment and tomorrow I play at Blenheim Village for their Church Service. I do send my sincere sympathy to all the family. May your memories help to comfort you.

Cousin Irene, I have always remembered you selling me 1955 baseball cards when you worked at the Rondeau Bay store. I was so proud telling my friends that you were my cousin. Many times I told you how you reminded me so much of Grace Kelly, not only in your appearance but also in the manner in which you carried yourself. The summer of ‘62, working in Blenheim, gave me the chance to drop in for frequent visits. Aunt Vivian lived there with you at the time, but oh how I enjoyed those visits with you and Gordon, so much fun. You always made me feel so welcome. My only regret is that Phyl and I were not able to visit with you more frequently. Our sincere condolences to all of the family and may God bless and comfort each of you. Love & hugs. - Phyl & Keith

I met Irene (and Gord) about 30 years ago when I joined a women’s baseball league in Blenheim (on Janet’s team). Irene and Gord were loyal spectators, doing their best to view two games at once (Janet’s, and also Marianne’s). I was blessed to see more of Irene later when she moved to Ridgetown. She will be missed, but my heart is warmed by the thought of her and Gord sitting side-by-side on their lawn chairs, cheering us on.

Wonderful memories of Aunt Irene that I will always treasure; not the least of which is our conversation just a few short months ago in Blenheim. She always had a way to brighten your day even after hours of picking stones or hoeing beans. How it is that I still laugh a little when I see a "fresh crop" of stones every spring has everything to do with both Aunt Irene and Uncle Gordon; I cherish them both. She will be missed.

Our sympathy to you all. I was lucky to have been one of the many Johnston cousins who spent happy times as children at the trailer at Rondeau with Aunt Vivian, Audrey and Irene. They were fun times and later we often visited the Campbell farm on the Ridge. Irene and Gordie loved to visit and laugh. Irene was a kind and generous person. Pete and I visited with her at the Village after her diagnosis. As usual, she was upbeat and involved in the activities. We heard about her children and many grandchildren and we’re thinking of you all now. Please accept our condolences.
