To Craig, Glynis and families: This condolence comes a bit late; we missed the visitation due to not hearing on time. George called every Christmas season to send greeting through the phone lines. Great neighbours for so many years, couldn’t ask for better. Asking the Lord to send peace and comfort in those difficult moments. Blessings, Peter and Betty DuChene

I just read about George passing today. He was such a nice man and knew him and Thirza since 1968 as I worked at Union Gas also. The last time I saw George was a couple of years ago when he attended retirees Christmas party and he made the effort to come to my table to give my a big hug. He was a real gem and I will never forget him. My sincere condolences to all the family to a guy well liked. Patsy Stratford

I just found out about George's passing today, and wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to the family. George was one of my first Supervisors at Union Gas 30 years ago and I absolutely adored him. George loved his family deeply and was such a proud husband, dad and grandpa. When George retired he gave a tea cup and saucer to all the ladies in HR, all from his personal collection from many nights spent at auctions. I still have that cup & saucer! Sorry for your loss Allen Family.

I worked with George in the 80’s and 90’s in HR at Union Gas. He was a very kind man with a quick smile. When I left the company, he gave me a beautiful cup and saucer with shamrocks on it that he got at an auction. I have moved it with me all the way to Florida and treasure fond memories of George whenever I look at it. My prayers are with your family. Sharon Patterson

To Glynis, Jay and family Sending our deepest sympathy in the passing of your wonderful father and grandfather. I miss seeing him on his porch on Arnold street and having our lovely conversations. Craig, Kim, Glynis, Jay and families - We are so very sorry to hear of George's passing. George and Thirza both hold a special place in my heart. I was able to have a visit just a couple months ago with George. When I sat beside him that day, I told Thirza I was just sitting in "her chair" for a minute. We shared some memories from Union Gas. I'm so glad I was able to have that conversation with him. He was a bright light, both at work and away from work. My husband Jeff and I, enjoyed working with George very much. He was certainly be missed.
