A resident of Dover Centre, Lesley Dean Carroll passed away peacefully at Fairfield Park Nursing Home on October 2nd, 2024, at the age of 85. Dean, born and raised in Wallaceburg, was the beloved son of Harold and Viola (nee Simpson) Carroll.
He leaves behind his loving wife Shirley (née Griffore) of 62 years. He will be greatly missed as a loving father to Rick Carroll (Louise) of Dover Centre, and Mike Carroll (Kelly) of Oakville. A cherished pépère to Laura Thibodeau (Denis) of Pain Court, Jessica Nowicki (Eric) of Tilbury, Brooklyn and Jacob Carroll of Oakville. Additionally, he was a proud grand-pépère to Genevieve and Camille Nowicki.
Dean had eight siblings and is survived by his brothers Lloyd Carroll of Chatham and Pat Carroll of Wallaceburg; predeceased by Bill, Russ, Jack, Bernice, Wayne, and Doug.
Dean worked as grocery store manager for 35 years at Dominion, A&P, IGA and NoFrills. He also served as Vice-President of the St-Philippe Ushers Club and was a proud member of the Moose Lodge in Wallaceburg were he tended to the bar and kitchen before retirement.
Two of his greatest joys were spent with lifelong friends bowling in a Wednesday night league and playing slot machines in casinos across North America, including many trips to Las Vegas.
Though he was a man of few words, his love for family spoke volumes. We are grateful he is finally at peace and free from suffering. His spirit, kindness and generosity will live forever in our hearts.
