We were so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Clearly he will be remembered as a quiet, thoughtful and kind man who had an incredible amount of ingenuity. Sherry, my deepest condolences on the death of Doug.
Seems like it was just a few years ago , I worked with his dad at Fram.
He would talk about how he wanted to be an electrician , also building the house etc.
I never remembered meeting him in person.
Of course it was awhile ago we rode that old bus to high school, good memories .
I'm sure you were an excellent care giver. Again so sorry for your loss.

Sherry and Wendy,
I was heartbroken to hear about Doug's passing. I hold very fond memories of coming to stay at your mom and dad's home when I visited with my parents. I was just a teenager at the time and I remember talking to Doug about my budding passion for racquetball and he took time out of his day to take me to the local courts to play a few rounds. I was amazed that he was willing to do that as he really didn't know me and I was just a awkward teenager. We had such a great time! That made a life-long impression on me and I will NEVER forget that.
Doug was such a warm, friendly person and your family (you both, Doug, Tom, and Betty) welcomed us like we knew each other our entire lives. I am blessed and thankful to know your family and to have you as a part of my life. I am SO thankful for your friendship and kindness to my mom and dad as well. Your family holds a VERY special place in their hearts.
I pray God watches over you and blesses you during this very difficult time.

Dear Sherry.
We were so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. We can't even imagine the grief you are experiencing right now. I know that the last several months have been extremely difficult for both of you. Even though you know that Doug is in his Heavenly home, that does not ease the sadness and sense of loss for you right now. Life certainly is not fair. What a beautiful tribute to him in his obit!!! Al and I thought the world of Doug. Such a nice person, so talented, always so welcoming to us when we came to Canada.

The Kerr family:
I met Doug in 1952 as Kindergarten classmates at Queen Mary Public School. I don't know if you ever saw our class picture so I have cropped the section that included him. I hope it brings you some joy. My brother, Bob, and I lived on Lorne Ave. and he lived, I think, a couple of streets over on Pattison or Spencer. We moved in 1955 so we lost track of one another. I believe Doug met up with Bob at CCI some years later.
