Bernicky: Diane (née DeWael) -
A resident of Chatham, Diane Bernicky passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 71.
Born in Chatham, Diane was the daughter of late Cyril (Sonny) DeWael and Barb Benore.
Survived by Daughters, Janilea Smith, Roshelle Mardling (Johnny) and Carolyn Mardling.
Gramma to Skylar Mardling (Cody), Kearstyn Mardling. And great-grandmother to Addalie.
Sister to Sherry Smith (Dana), John DeWael, Dave DeWael (late Carrie), the late Randy DeWael (Robin).
Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved cat Kibbles.
Diane was a lady with many loves: gardening, fishing, sewing, bingo, canning vegetables, Elvis, sitting in the sunshine and family gatherings. But her greatest love of all was being with her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 459 St. Clair St.,Chatham on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 1:00 pm until service time at 3:00 pm.
Luncheon to follow the service.
Cremation to follow.
Donations made in memory of Diane to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
