Gotelaer: Shirley Doreen (née Prance) -
A resident of Ridgetown, Shirley Gotelaer passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the age of 87.
Born in Thedford, Shirley was the daughter of the late Harold and Minerva (née Vincent) Prance.
Beloved wife of the late Gordon Gotelaer (2013).
Loving mother of Pete Gotelaer (Bonnie) and Jeff Gotelaer (Mandy). Predeceased by her son Dave Gotelaer (Corey).
Proud Grandma to Paul, David Jr., Rochelle, Rebecca, Valerie, Alyson and Mackenzie.
Great-Grandma to many great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her sister Betty Gill (late Bill).
Sister-in-law to Betty Osborne (late Ken). Predeceased by in-laws Margaret Graves (late Ken), Jean Mervin (late Bob).
Also remembered by Dana Deechan.
Shirley retired from a successful career in real estate after over 20 years of service. She enjoyed her many trips to Florida and going racing with her husband Gord.
Shirley will be remembered for her gentle spirit, the way she always lent a helping hand and the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Sunday, FEBRUARY 23, 2025 from 12:00pm until the Celebration of her Life at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Shirley to the Parkinson Society would be appreciated by the family.
