Obituary of Marilyn Mortele
Mortele: Marilyn Onalee (née Baxter) -
A resident of R.R. # 2 Ridgetown, Marilyn Mortele passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the age of 83.
Born in Tillsonburg, Marilyn was the daughter of the late William and Mable (née Ellis) Baxter. Predeceased by her in-laws Robert and Angele (Vancraeynest) Mortele.
Beloved wife of the late Lucien Mortele (2004).
Loving mother of Angela Lippert (Rob) and Robert Mortele (Beth).
Proud Grandma to Mathew Lippert (Alie), Faith Mortele and Paige Mortele
G.G. is adored by her great-grandsons Lucien and Michael.
Step-Grandma to Jamie Elgie (Misty) and great-grandchildren Taylor and Kyle.
Dear sister to Shirley Simpson and sister-in-law to Eric McDonald. Predeceased by her siblings Robert Baxter (late Colleen), Margaret Moorehouse (late Mort) and Bev McDonald.
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Marilyn will be remembered as a strong, independent and kind woman. Marilyn and Lucien worked, lived and played together. They built a business together and enjoyed spending their off-time golfing, boating and laughing. Marilyn devoted herself to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Friday, February 28, 2025. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
