Obituary of Linda Ann Lauzon
A resident of Dover Centre, Linda Lauzon passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 28, 2025 at the age of 66.
Born in Chatham, Linda was the beloved daughter of Jack and Mary Kiser (née Dees).
Linda had a sharp wit, a heart of gold, and a personality big enough to fill any room. She had a gift for making people laugh, whether with a perfectly timed joke or a look that said everything without a single word. She got her strength and determination from her parents, Jack and Mary, who taught her to face life with resilience and a good sense of humour. She never backed down from a challenge, but she always found a way to make it a little more fun along the way.
Linda was the beloved wife of 15 years to Gerard, the love of her life and her best friend. Their marriage was filled with laughter, unwavering support, and an unbreakable bond. Whether they were enjoying quiet moments at home, tending to their garden, or sharing stories over a good meal, they were happiest simply being together. Linda was endlessly grateful for the love they shared.
Linda’s love for her son, Joshua Benoot (Kristi), was immeasurable. She was so proud of the man he became—a devoted husband, a loving father—always knowing she had a hand in shaping who he is today. She was his biggest cheerleader, and while she liked to joke that she deserved full credit for how amazing he turned out, the truth was, she was beyond grateful to have him as her son.
Cherished Gramma to Gabriel, Dean, and Beckett. Nothing in this world brought Linda more joy than spending time with her boys. Whether it was having sleepovers, going to the beach, playing board games (especially UNO), or simply laughing together, every moment with them was a treasure. Gabriel, Dean, and Beckett filled her heart with boundless love, and she always made sure they knew, she loved them to the moon and back.
Linda was a beloved sister to Milt (Marla), John (Anne), and Jason (Nikki).
She and Milt shared a lifelong connection built on loyalty, laughter, and countless memories. Whether it was trading witty comebacks, reminiscing about the good old days, or tackling life’s ups and downs together, Milt was always in her corner. She cherished their countless conversations, his ability to make her laugh when she needed it most, and the comfort of knowing he was always just a phone call away. With John, Linda always knew she had a brother who could make her laugh even on the toughest days. Their relationship was built on playful jabs, long talks, and an unspoken understanding that only siblings share. She cherished his constant presence in her life, treasuring every shared joke, every story told, and every moment that brought them closer. Her bond with Jason (Nikki) was one that remained strong no matter where life took them. Whether they were catching up after time apart or picking up right where they left off with their familiar banter, Linda held close the shared memories, the laughter, and the knowledge that he would always be a part of her life.
Linda held a special place in her heart for her stepdaughters, Jessica (Darin) and Sarah, always wanting the best for them. She also valued being Grandma Linda to Benjamin, Charlie, and Lauren, finding joy in watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and cherishing every moment they shared together.
Linda will be deeply missed by her nephew Aaron and nieces Regan and Emma, along with extended family and friends, including her infamous group of “Golden Girls”, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.
For 45 years, Linda was a familiar and friendly face to countless people in the community through her work at Zehrs and the Real Canadian Superstore. Whether it was a warm greeting, a quick chat, or a shared laugh in the aisles, she had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend.
As per Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Linda can be made to Noelle’s Gift to Children (CK Student Nutrition Program, www.noellesgift.ca) or to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
