Obituary of Mary Kathryn Jewell "Kay" Calhoun
Calhoun, Mary Kathryn Jewell (Kay)
Passed away on the 18th of April, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Chatham in 1938, Kay was the daughter of the late Harry and Vera Daugherty. She is also predeceased by her son Mark, brother-in-law Arthur and close friend Milne.
Kay will be sadly missed by her children Allen (Irene), Janice, Scot (Tracey), Kevin (Karon), Kim and Alison (Wade). She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Kay will be dearly missed by her sister Betty and many nieces and nephews.
Kay worked at Chatham Coach Lines as a school bus driver and Sears as a seamstress for many years. She was also involved with the Girl Guides where she dedicated herself for 70 years.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 11:00 am until service time in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Kay to the Chatham Kent Hospice or the Chatham Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
