Charron: Evelyn (née Cartier) -
A resident of Ridgetown, Evelyn Charron passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with her family at her side on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the age of 73.
Born in Grande Pointe, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Rufus and Violet (née Richie) Cartier.
Beloved wife of 56 years to Douglas Charron.
Loving mother of Tracy Johnston (Lennie), Shelley Osborne (Tim), Laurie Reaume (Chris), Carrie Robinson (Garnet) and Doug Charron (Jana-Lyn).
Grandma Evie to Shelby (Matt), Cole; Trish (Graham), Amanda (Josh), Bobby (Jordyn); Matt (Chantel), Riley; Paris, Carman; Jocelyn and Nathan.
Great-Grandma to Taylor, Addison, Blair, Sophie, Colter; Payton, Parker, Porter; and Isabella.
Great-Great-Grandma to Ledger.
Dear sister to the late Rose (late Ron), Annette (late Melvin), Leona, Bernie (Shirley), the late Jerome, the late Rosaire (Nancy), the late Roger (late Donna), Theresa, the late Anna, the late Paul, Cecilia, Dennis (Tammy), Norman, Stella (late Joe), Ruth Anne, the late Eddie, the late Gordie and Mike (Susan).
Sadly missed by her fur baby, Angel.
Evelyn retired from Martinrea Fabco after over 25 years of service. She loved singing, reading and going to the casino. Family was very important to her, having been one of nineteen children.
Throughout her lifetime, Evelyn enjoyed the services at Erie Street United Church and the church community.
Evelyn was our matriarch. She will be remembered for her forgiving heart and the way she made everyone feel like family.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 6:00 - 8:00pm and on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
Special thanks to the staff at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for their care and compassion during this trying time.
Donations made in memory of Evelyn to the Alzheimer Society, Juvenile Diabetes, Lung Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
