Obituary of Phyllis Lyon
Lyon: Vasilina Phyllis (née Ivanoff) -
A resident of Chatham, and previously of Grand Bend, Phyllis Lyon passed away at Riverview Gardens on June 2, 2025 at the age of 87.
Born in Kayville, Saskatchewan, Phyllis was the daughter of the late John and Annie (née Danchuk) Ivanoff.
Reunited with her loving husband Peter "Pat" Lyon.
Loving mother to Sandra Rogers (Jim) and the late Marie Rogers.
Caring grandmother to Kellie Lewis (Ryan), Candace Naundorf (Doug), Melanie Rogers-Cooper (Jen) and the late Melissa Rogers.
Honorary grandmother to Len (Dawn), Miranda, Tai, Christopher, and Nicole.
Great-grandmother to Mikaela, Carissa, Isabelle, Evan, Kayley, Keira, Jesse, Skyla, Jaylynn, Tristen, Rhyan, Aiden, Ayla and Lincoln.
During her career Phyllis was a elementary teacher, Special Education Consultant and Principal in Windsor, Chatham-Kent and Middlessex. Phyllis and Pat operated Pinery Auctions in Grand Bend. She was a member of Holy Trinity St. Paul's Anglican Church and Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent.
Phyllis will also be remembered by her life-long friend, Mary Alice Marchand, with whom she shared many laughs and adventures.
Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday, June 9th, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am with a Service to follow at 11:00 am and interment at 2:30pm at The Pinery Cemetery in Grand Bend. Those wishing to attend the burial are invited to meet the family at the Cemetery for that time.
Donations made in memory of Phyllis to the Dollywood Foundation of Canada (Dolly Parton's Imagination Library) would be appreciated by the family.
