Obituary of Elaine Tewkesbury

TEWKESBURY: Elaine - 

Elaine Tewkesbury, of Chatham passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance after a brief illness, at the age of 80.

Born in Chatham, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford (1961) Humphrey and Madge (nee Smart) (2001) and step daughter to Raymond Toulouse (1998).

Elaine was surpassed in death by her beloved husband, David Tewkesbury in 2020.  She will be remembered by her sons, Jeff (Sarah) Tewkesbury and Jarrod (Kyla) Tewkesbury.  Her grandchildren Owen, Rachel and Kole.

Elaine is predeceased by her siblings Bill and Bob Humphrey and she has a sister Joan Cooney.  She also is remembered by her brother-in-law, Dale (Marsha) Tewkesbury and many nephews and nieces.

Elaine was known for her love of shopping and cooking delicious holiday dinners for her family.  She demonstrated her love with spoiling her family with gifts and food.  Elaine enjoyed her grandchildren's various activities from sports to plays.  

Elaine worked at various jobs over the years, from Brenda’s hair salon, Cargill Grain, Smart Talk Network, Tilbury Auto and spent her remaining years at the Chiropractic Wellness Centre before retiring in 2018.   

As per Elaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family Internment at a later date.
