Obituary of Ruth Myers

A resident of Chatham, formerly of Grande Pointe, Ruth Myers (nee McKeon) passed away at her home on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the age of 86. 

She was the daughter of the late Albert & Leona (nee Gerber) McKeon. 

Ruth will be lovingly reunited with her husband of 64 beautiful years, Romeo Myers (May 9, 2023).

Remembered always by her children, Kevin Myers (Sue), Keith Myers (Janice) and Kolette Myers.

Grandma of Derek Myers (Amy), Crystal Gayed (Fady), Meghan Myers and Mariah Myers.  Great-Grandma of Yvan, Brander, Nash, Yasmina, and Zaina.

Sister of Ed McKeon (the late Janet), Gord McKeon (Patti), Theresa Dupuis (Camille), Eleanor Peltier (the late Pete), the late Pat McKeon (Val) and Larry McKeon (Linda).  Predeceased by her sister, Marie Shepley, brother, Pat McKeon and brother-in-law, Jim Shepley.  

Survived by sister-in-law, Val McKeon. 

Predeceased by in-laws, Alvin Myers, Orville Myers, Seville Myers, Roland Myers, Jeanne Bélanger and Dorothy Lozon.

Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.  

Ruth retired as a Phlebotomist after 30 years with MDS Lab and St. Joseph's Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and socializing with friends, gardening and spending time in the sun. Ruth and Romeo loved their time traveling, watching concerts and nights out at the casino. The family finds comfort knowing they are together again.

Family to receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Ruth's life will be at the Funeral Home on Friday at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow with a Private Family Interment.

In memory of Ruth, donations may be made to Sunshine Kids and the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
