BALANGO: Jonathan -

March 26, 1981 - August 8, 2025.

Family and friends are saddened by the loss of Jonathan Balango who passed away suddenly at his home in Chatham Ontario on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the age of 44. Raised in London, Jon is predeceased by his parents, father George Balango and treasured mother, Anita Balango (Oostveen), loving grandparents, Joseph and Gizella Balango, John and Gerarda Oostveen and uncle Joe Balango (Darlene). He is survived by his confidant and best friend, Lauren Curtin, their cherished daughters, Ella Balango and Taylor Curtin. They were his world and he was theirs.

Also mourning Jonathan’s passing are his beloved sister Jana Cooper (Brendan) and their children, Marcus and Blaire, sister Renee Quanstrom (Paul) and their children, Anna and Kate, as well as Lauren’s parents, Tom and Corie Curtin and brother Simon (Ashley). Missing Jon are also many aunts and uncles, work colleagues and friends.

Jon built a successful career in retail serving most recently as a District Manager for TJX Canada. Often referred to as ‘the best boss’, he was admired for his leadership and dedication to his profession and his commitment to family, friends and colleagues.

As a youth, Jon competed in a variety of sports, cultivating life-long friendships. He was extremely competitive by nature and fiercely protective of those he loved. He was also an unwavering supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Blue Jays and the London Knights, passing these loyalties along to his beloved daughter, Ella B. Jon was an avid fisherman who was happiest when out on the water, creating enduring memories with family and friends.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Monday, August 18, 2025 with Deacon Jerry Lozon officating. Private family interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
