Annie Coufal (nee Prokop)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, and Mémé, Annie Coufal, who peacefully passed away on September 7, 2025, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, surrounded by her family. She was 74 years old.

Born in Harnes, France to Alexandre and Marie (Lasiowska) Prokop, Annie lived a life full of love, devotion and joy. She and her husband, Frank moved to Canada in 1971 and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love and many cherished memories.

Annie and Frank shared a love story that began as pen pals and blossomed when they first met under the Eiffel Tower - a romance that became a shining example of true love. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with friendship, laughter and a family that brought Annie immeasurable pride and joy. She was the biggest supporter of her children and grandchildren, always there to celebrate their achievements and shower them with her unwavering love.

Annie is survived by her husband Frank Coufal; her children Jennifer Utley (Darrin) and Daniel Coufal (Ashley); and her cherished grandchildren Hannah, Emily, Mackenzie and Austin. She is also survived by her brother Michel Prokop (Maryvonne) and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Annie was predeceased by her siblings Eddy Prokop (Jeanette), Lily Macharacek (Joe) and Jean Claude Prokop (Germaine).

Annie's warm smile and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy is one of love, family and simple beauty of living each day with grace and joy. She leaves behind a family that will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service to follow.
