Bertie Horatio Patten
Born January 17, 1943
Beloved Husband of Margaret.
Passed into the loving arms of his Saviour on September 26th, 2025
Bertie Horatio Patten was born in Peterborough, ON, on January 17, 1943 to Garnet and Retha Patten. When he was 11 years old on March 22nd, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. After high school, he worked in construction. He then decided to go to Teachers College. After college he taught construction in Windsor and Bowmanville.
Bertie married Margaret Dale on March 19, 1983.
Bertie and Margaret then started to split their time between Canada and the West Indies. He enjoyed his time in the West Indies and helped in Gospel outreach work and the Children's Outreach work.
Bertie and Margaret then decided to stay in Canada and bought a house in Blenheim. They have lived there for the last 33 years. He loved his garden and grapevines. He would give grapes to many friends and neighbors. Bertie loved to cook and spent a lot of time working in the kitchen. He also loved to read his Bible. He always had a tract in his pocket to give when he was out and about town. Bertie was often heard singing Gospel Hymns. Bertie loved researching his family history. He loved to share this history with his family. Bertie's health deteriorated and he spent the last few weeks in the hospital. He passed peacefully with Margaret by his side on Friday, September 26, 2025.
Bertie is survived by his loving wife Margaret (nee Dale). His family, Doug (Cleo), Lucy (Ken), David (Yvonne), Barlow (Meg), Miriam (John). Margaret's loving and caring family. Bertie has many cherished nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention.

Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Victoria Cemetery, Merlin.
