The Rev. Mervyn Edward Tubb died on October 26, 2025, in his 96th year.

He is predeceased by Barbara (Hayton), his wife of 64 years; his sister and brother; and one grandson.

He is survived and dearly missed by 3 children: David (Karen) of Chatham, Debbi Beldman of Penetanguishene, Diana Loach (Jeff) of Nobleton, along with 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter on the way.

Merv was born and raised in Fort Erie, graduated from Knox College, Toronto, and was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacraments in The Presbyterian Church in Canada in 1963.  He faithfully served pastorates in St. Catharines and St. Davids; Ridgetown; Durham; and South Nissouri and Dorchester until his retirement in 1998.  He continued to serve the Lord he loved, doing pulpit supply until 2017, and then continuing to preach at The Village on the Ridge until just a few years ago.

Cremation has taken place, and a service will take place in the chapel at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Jeff Loach.  A family burial will follow at the Arkona Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Change Her World; St. Paul’s Church, Nobleton; or the Ridgetown Public Library.

The family is most grateful to the staff of Bayshore and the Village on the Ridge for the exceptional care of Dad over these last 11 years, but especially during these last months.
