Richie: Sandra Lee (née Buchanan) -
On the morning of November 22, 2025, Sandra Richie passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home in Chatham at the age of 81.
Reunited with loving husband Lionel Richie of 40 years.
Cherished mother to Debbie (late Greg) Taylor, Dennis (Nancy) Gow, Tammy Gow and the late Harold Gow.
Step-mother to Dale (Julie) Richie, Carrol (Mike) Pishl and Brian Richie.
Loving grandmother to Alicia (Jason) Yoho, Caitie (Nick) Bultman, Mark (Kaitlyn) Matthew, Stephanie (Kari) Matthew, Chris Gow, Jeff (Danielle) Gow, Jason (Rachel) Taylor, Victoria (Lorne) Lamarsh, Nicole Gow, Michael Lariviere and Jennifer (Tuan) Le.
Beloved Gigi to 11 great grandchildren.
Sister to Patricia Wright (Late Michael) and Kathy (Doug) Eade.
Sandra is predeceased by her parents Albert (Marg) Van Looy and Florence (Robert) Buchanan.
She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, extended family and her furry companion Marley.
The family wish to extend their thanks to the VON nurses, PSW and Community Care Partners during her final year.
Sandra was a devoted Catholic and attended services at St. Ursula's, she was the past president of the Catholic Women's League and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She also taught Girl Guides, she was a leader of the brownies and was known as Granny Grey Owl. Sandra loved wine tours, camping with her husband Lionel, and shopping for the perfect salt and pepper shakers.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at McKinlay Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St, Chatham, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Ursula's Catholic Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Ave. West, Chatham on November 27, 2025 at 11:00am, with interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations made in memory of Sandra to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
