It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our precious child, Brody Smyth, who passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at the tender age of 1.
Born in Chatham, September 3rd 2024, Brody was the loved and cherished son of Graham and Amanda (née Jennen) Smyth.
Treasured younger brother and best friend to Lucas Smyth.
Much loved grandson to his proud grandparents, Oma Shelley and Opa Marcel Jennen, and Grandma Lee Ann and Grandpa Paul Smyth.
Great-grandson to Oma Nettie and Opa John Jennen and Nana Ruthanne Allison (late Papa Raymond).
Dearly missed nephew to Lindsay Simpson (Greg), Michael Jennen (Emily Van Hooste) and Allison Heavens (Alex).
Also missed by his cousins Chloe and Baby Girl Heavens.
Brody loved family camping adventures, reading books, playing the xylophone, playing hockey, reorganizing the cupboards and following in the footsteps of his older brother, Lucas. Brody had a profound love for music with nursery rhymes always bringing out his contagious smile and laugh.
Special thanks to Brody's Tilbury Tots Pain Court family for allowing Brody to share in all of the amazing experiences he was able to be a part of and for their support of the family in recent days. Brody's time on this Earth was short, but filled with love from his amazing family - a love that became all the more evident in the darkest of times.
Brody's family will receive family and friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Brody to Tilbury Tots Early Learning Centre (cash or cheque only) or a children’s charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
