HADDOCK, Harold

A resident of Blenheim, Harold Haddock passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance – Chatham Campus on December 2, 2025, at the age of 81.

Born in Ridgetown, ON, Harold was the son of John and Jean (née Cowell) Haddock.

Harold was the beloved husband of 39 years to Shirley (née Person, 2008) and 12 years to Linda Mitchell (2025).

He was a cherished father to his three daughters: Christine (Philip) Parking, Tammy Haddock (2003), and Denise (Duncan) Coubrough.

He will be forever remembered as “Papa” by Hailey Craig (Bailey), Jesse (Mel) Craig, Zach (Ashley) Craig, and Alyssa (Alex) Comrie, and as “Grandpa” by Mikayla and Tyler (Mia) Coubrough.
Proud Great-Grandpa to Avery Craig.

Harold was one of seven siblings and is survived by David, Jeannie, and Barb, and predeceased by Bruce, Bill, and Ron.

Many will remember Harold for his years on the ice at the Ridgetown arena—whether as a player, coach, or beloved referee. He served as both manager and player in the SMHL hockey league, fondly known for his infamous “first aid kit” cooler. Harold was the neighbourhood handyman, always ready to lend a hand, and he took great pride in the meticulous care of his vehicles. He also enjoyed his annual travels to Cancun with the Iowa group.
