Obituary of Jean Aldythe Belle Zoldy
Jean Zoldy (née Jinkerson) passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Chatham-Kent, Howard Township, Jean was the cherished daughter of the late Oliver and Aldythe (Jewell) Jinkerson.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Douglas Zoldy, and their two sons, Frank and Victor Zoldy.
She is survived by her three daughters Janie Lynne Zoldy of Chatham; Rosalind Travnicek (Darren Walker) of Mull and Marcia Ure (Shawn) of Highgate.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to John, James, and Monica Travnicek; Zach, Brandon, and Victoria Zoldy; David MacLachlan, Korben, Trinity, and Blake Ure.
She was also a loving great-grandmother to Kay-Lynn and William Travnicek; Isavel, Klarissa, and Douglas Travnicek; Evelynn MacLachlan; and Ocean Zoldy.
Jean was the beloved sister of Larry (Barbara) Jinkerson and Joanne (Charles) Fields, and was predeceased by her siblings Harold, Carl, Fred, Waneda, and Donald.
She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Jean will also be deeply missed by her many friends and by the community she cared for so deeply.
Jean lived a life full of creativity, warmth, and generosity. She loved cooking, crocheting, knitting, reading, drawing, hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with her family. Throughout her life, she worked in the food industry and served as an educational tutor for many children after school. She was actively involved with Crime Stoppers and, years ago, served as a Girl Guide leader. Jean’s compassion and understanding brought many people to her door—teenagers and adults alike—where they always found a loving heart and a listening ear.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date by Marcia Ure.
Donations in Jean’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
