Peter Koning

Obituary of Peter Koning

Koning: Peter -

Peter Koning went home to be with the Lord who he loved very much on December 17, 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his five children.

Husband of the late Annie Koning (Planting, 1982).

Loving father of Sheila Benn (Mike), Shannon L'Ecuyer (Vince), Sarah Graham (Brad), Christopher Koning (Nancy 2008) and Nathan Koning (Alicja).

Very proud grandfather to 15 beautiful grandchildren, Mitchell, Rachel, Katelyn, Taylor, Avery, Jared, Cameron, Colton, Conor, Cal, Gloria, Faith, Jonathan, Antoni and William.

He will be missed by his special friend Nancy Ancocik.

Peter is the son of the late Herman and Florence Koning (Hunt).

Survived by brother Dave and predeceased by sisters Mildred (2024), Catherine (1987) and brother Harry (2013).

Peter was a strong, stubborn and hard working farmer, who's life was built on faith, family and the land he loved. His legacy will live on through the business he created with his daughter "Sarah's Farm Markets" growing fresh local fruit and vegetables for our local community.

Rising before the sun and working until the job was done. He believed in doing things the right way, even if it was the hard way. He loved God deeply and was most proud of his family, who he worked tirelessly to provide for. Peter always encouraged his family to have a balance between work and play, and felt strongly about education and shared in his belief that "Hard work leads to success".

His grit, values and quiet love will live on in all who knew him and all who loved him.

"What are we going to do? Stick together like glue, that's what we'll do!"

Peter's request was to have a private family burial at Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Donations made in memory of Peter to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
