Obituary of Brian Lancaster

Lancaster: Brian Lloyd -

With profound sadness and full hearts, we share the passing of Brian Lloyd Lancaster, age 78, on January 7, 2026. Brian leaves behind a lifetime of love, devotion, and unforgettable memories.

He is cherished and deeply missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Valerie Louise Lancaster (Molson), who was his partner in every sense of the word. Brian is reunited in peace with his parents, Russell and Doris (Lloyd) Lancaster, who went before him.

Brian’s legacy lives on through his children, who adored him beyond measure: Sandra Caron (Steven) and Scott Lancaster (Karen). His grandchildren-Scott Conrod (Kristen), Jessica Conrod (Quinn), Meaghan Lancaster (Josh), Jillian Lancaster, Colin Lancaster, Myles Pavicic, Madison Pavicic, Aiden Caron, and Brody Caron-will forever carry his stories, his humour, and his gentle strength in their hearts. His great-grandson Dawson Busuttil, brought him immense joy.

Brian is also lovingly remembered by his brother Paul (Carolyn) Lancaster, and by his extended family of brothers- and sisters-in-law: Tena and John McKeon, Sandra and Brent Davis, and George and Ruth Molson. He is predeceased by his brother Ralph and brother-in-law Ellwood Turner. Countless nieces and nephews will miss his warmth, his laughter, and his steady presence.

A man of remarkable skill and dedication, Brian spent 35 years at Eaton Yale/Oxford, while also working as a millwright, small-engine, and marine mechanic. His hands could fix anything, and his craftsmanship was admired by all who knew him. He was a proud member of the Kent Historic Auto Club, Branch 642 Legion, and the Moose Lodge Chatham.

Brian lived life with passion and adventure. He raced Outboard HydroPlane Boats with extraordinary talent and determination, earning championships across Canada, proudly achieving the title of Canadian National Champion. His love for restoring antique vehicles-and his talent as a painter-were unmatched. His beautifully restored 1955 Chevy, a true labour of love, won numerous awards and reflected the pride he took in every project.

Brian touched the lives of many with his kindness, his humour, and his unwavering love for his family. His absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to shine through the people and passions he nurtured.

Brian’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather to honour the remarkable man he was.

Donations made in memory of Brian to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent would be appreciated by the family.
