Forgeard: Jean "John" Maurice -
A resident of Chatham, John Forgeard passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on January 13, 2026 at the age of 88.
Born in St. Pierre et Miquelon, John was the son of the late Pierre Marie and Laura (née Fleming) Forgeard.
Reunited with loving wife Edna Forgeard (née Hennebury) and leaving behind life partner Barbara Laforet.
Loving Father to Rick Forgeard and Steve (Dawn) Forgeard.
Adored Gramps to Kyle, Chantal, Alecia and Jason Forgeard.
Will be missed by daughter in-law Gayle and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by Brother Rene Forgeard.
John loved to watch hockey and was a dedicated Montreal Canadiens fan. He was the anchor in our family and a wonderful father. John loved and supported his grandkids with fierce loyalty and unwavering dedication.
John's wishes were to be cremated and his urn will be placed in above ground niche next to his late wife Enda Forgeard at Christ the King Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of John to the Canadian Cancer Society (Prostate Cancer Research) would be appreciated by the family.
