Obituary of Pat Moore

A resident of Chatham, Pat Moore passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the age of 86.

He was the son of the late Richard & Josephine (nee Deneau) Moore.

Lovingly reunited with his wife of 58 years, Betty Jean (nee Ellis, 2020).

Proud father of Kevin Moore & Jason Moore.

Loving grandpa of Max, Vincent, Abigayle, & Katherine.

Predeceased by his siblings, Robert Moore (Mary), Shirley Rankin (Jerry), Elmer Moore, & Eleanor Parkyn (Jim).

Survived by sister-in-law, Marney Moore.

Brother-in-law of David Ellis (Margaret), Mary Baker, Edward Ellis (Donna), John Ellis (Rose), Jim Ellis, & Norman Ellis (Gina).

Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended family.

Pat was passionate about his family and cared deeply for his siblings, aunts  uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews from both sides of his family. The bond he created and shared with all brought him joy and was always the hilight of his day. Pat always had a furry best friend at his side, most recently his rescue pet adoption of Prince, who will miss him as much as any pet could.  Most of all, Pat loved his grandkids and would go to the ends of the earth for each and everyone of them! After a full and dedicated career, Pat retired from Union Gas as a Certified Engineer. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his knowledge, integrity, and strong work ethic. A lifelong contributor to World Vision, Pat and Betty Jean believed strongly in helping others and making a meaningful difference in the world. Their generosity and compassion extended far beyond their immediate circle. In his leisure time, Pat enjoyed boating — finding peace and joy on the water, where he created many treasured memories with family and friends. His legacy is one of love, dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

Family to receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 11:30 am until a Celebration of Pat's Life at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow in Bethel Cemetery.

In memory of Pat and in lieu of flowers, donations made to World Vision Canada would be appreciated by the family.
