Obituary of Marie Elizabeth Wilson
A resident of Chatham, formerly of Newmarket, Marie Wilson passed peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the age of 80.
She was the daughter of the late Gerald & Marie (nee Pothier) Sarty.
Marie will be lovingly reunited with the love of her life, Bob Wilson (2007).
Dear sister of the late Delores Wallace (the late Reg), Paul Sarty (the late Kathy), Lawrence Sarty (the late Mary), and William Sarty (Harriet).
Proud aunt of Robert Wallace, Timothy Sarty (Aga), Laura Gregory (John), Jennifer Sarty (Ryan), Jeffery Sarty (Kim), Robert Sarty, and Brian Sarty.
Great-aunt to Hannah, Liam, Olivia, James, Matthew, Sophia, Naomi, Nicole, Dylan, Ola, Case and Mavis.
Lovingly remembered by her dear friend, Heather (Jim), the late Marjorie, and the feline loves of her life, Max & Mike.
Predeceased by her god-parents, The Rev. Canon Dr. Graham Cotter & Margaret Evelyn Cotter, and their daughter, Cate. Survived by her god-siblings, Charis, Sean, Simon, and Zoe.
Marie was an avid crafter, knitter and quilter. She was devoted to her family, her faith, her church family and to her "boys", Max & Mike. Marie was an example of always choosing joy, no matter what life threw at her. Her bright light will be sincerely missed.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the professionalism and compassionate care from the staff of the ICU of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and to the staff at the Maples Retirement Home.
Family to receive friends on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 1:00 pm until a Celebration of Marie's Life at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place in Newmarket Cemetery on Friday, February 20th, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
