Tetrault-Hymus: Alice Jeanette -
A resident of Chatham, Alice Tetrault-Hymus passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 15, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 71st year.
Alice is predeceased by her daughter Chantelle Rivard (2016), her parents Armand (2000) and Antoinette (née Gagnier, 2003) Tetrault, as well as her sister Diane Kitt (2010) and her step-son Christopher Hymus (2025).
She is survived by her husband of over 25 years, Paul Hymus, Dr. Stephanie Maier (Mike), and Gina Hymus. Adopted granddaughters Samantha Levesque (Mike), Melissa Rivard (Dante), and additional grandchildren Keira Hymus, Madeleine Maier, Alex Maier, Tiffany Tugwell, and Brett Tugwell.
Great-grandmother to Brinley Levesque and Lyle Levesque.
She is also survived by her siblings, Annette Tetrault, Marie Alexandre (Gerald), Ray Tetrault (Cheryl), and Bernard Tetrault.
She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Alice worked as a medical secretary for 30 years and retired in 2017. She also volunteered throughout her adult life at many different places, such as Victim Services and Chatham-Kent Hospice to name a few.
She enjoyed her time at their summer place at Wildwood by the Lake Morpeth.
She loved people and spending time with friends and family; playing cards or just getting together for a few laughs. You could always tell when Alice was around, her laughter would light up a room wherever she was.
Family to receive friends at the funeral home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 145 Victoria Ave, Chatham at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Burial will follow at St. Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Alice to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
