Obituary of Allan Jones
Jones: Allan Douglas -
A resident of Chatham, Ontario, Allan Jones passed away with family by his side at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on April 25, 2026 at the age of 79.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Allan was the son of the late Bruce and Doreen (née MacKenzie).
Allan was a beloved husband of 57 years to Heather (née McAlorum).
Loving father to Nathan (Erin) Jones, Cory (Roxanne) Jones, and Amber (Ian) DePass.
Papa to Marcus, Alex, Makayla, Janelle, Sophia, Joshua, Hannah, Kathryn, Brittany, Victoria, Courtney, Benjamin, Evan, and Liam. Great-grandfather to many.
Brother to Carol (John) Smyth, David (Gloria) Jones, and the late Linda Mary Beauchesne.
He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Allan was a nature enthusiast. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, whether that was feeding the birds or taking photographs of scenery. Allan could often be found painting, portraying the beauty he found in the landscapes around him.
Family time was something special to Allan, he never missed a day to tell his family how much he loved them. He treasured the time spent stargazing with his wife, Heather until the early hours of the morning and sitting around the campfire "in the place where time stands still" (their home in Florence).
Allan was heavily connected to his faith for the majority of his life. He enjoyed helping in the kitchen at church and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Allan had a spirit of hospitality, always offering food or drinks to those visiting his home. Allan is sleeping in peace until Resurrection Day awaiting the return of his Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus).
Family and friends to be received at the funeral home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, June 7, 2026 from 1:00 pm until the Celebration of Allan's Life at 2:00 pm. Cremation has taken place.
Donations may be made in memory of Allan to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent or to Salvation Army Canada.
