Elberta Lynn Crow
July 13th, 1940-May 20th, 2026

Elberta Lynn Crow (nee Donner) of Chatham passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 20th, 2026 at Chatham Kent Hospice at the age of 85.

Born in Leaminington ON and a resident of Chatham for the last 67 years. Predeceased by parents Harry Donner (1996), Florence Donner (1993).

Married to late husband Dale Crow for 52 years (2011), and predeceased by infant son Timmy (1960), son Dana (2017)(Carole), sister Winsome McCormick (2026), brother Charles Donner (2016), sister June Biddle (2009). Survived by sister May Trott.

Survived by her children Selina, Tamera (Keith, late 2023), Duane (Tina) and Darrin
(Tracey).

Survived by grandchildren Michelle (Ian), Corey (Amanda), Nicole (Ben), Ryan (Marguerite), Seth and Mia. Great grandchildren, Ellie, Lewis, Gaston, Lucien, Eleanor and Penelope.

Also survived by Cocoa, Mom's cat. Cocoa was never far from her side and brought her so much love and comfort in her final years.

Bert enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, gardening, decorating, painting and genealogy. Bert spent many years researching family history and generously donated her files to the Genealogical Society in Chatham. 

The family of Elberta is grateful to the care provided to her from VON, Care Partners and in her final days the wonderful and compassionate care of Chatham-Kent Hospice as well as the staff at Windsor Cancer Centre as well as drivers for appointments. The family would also like to thank Mom's good neighbours Mary and Beverly for their kindness and support to our mother as well as Pastor Rick Dressler of Maple City Baptist Church where our mother was a member.

Visitation will take place at McKinlay Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St, Chatham on Monday May 25th, 2026 from 4-6 pm. Funeral Service in memory of Bert will be at the Funeral Home Tuesday May 26th starting at 11:00 am burial to follow at Maple Leaf cemetery. Service to be officiated by Pastor Rick Dressler.
