Obituary of Marjorie Burke
Burke: Marjorie Shirley (née Morgan) -
A resident of Chatham, Marjorie Burke passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on May 23, 2026 at the age of 95.
Born in Wheatley, Ontario, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Erle and Hazel (née Charlton) Morgan.
Marjorie is predeceased by Douglas Burke, and her three children, Bruce Burke (1998), Larry Burke (2015), and Diane Pinsonneault (2020).
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Linda Burke.
Grandmother to Jennifer (Dwayne) Roose, Stacey (Darren) Carther, Laura (Mike) Pinsonneault, Kevin Pinsonneault, Greg (Jodi) Burke, and Geoff (Angela) Burke.
Great-grandmother to 13. Great-great-grandmother to 7.
Predeceased by siblings Ray Morgan, Donna (James) Burchiel, Robert (Leta) Morgan, Gerald (Audrey) Morgan, and Irene McDonald.
She will be greatly missed by extended family and friends.
Marjorie could be found knitting, crocheting, and doing word searches. She enjoyed canning many things, such as pickles and jams. Marjorie was a housekeeper at Southwestern Regional Centre until she retired.
As per Marjorie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00 am.
Donations made in memory of Marjorie to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
