King: Brian Walker -
A resident of Jeannette's Creek, Brian King passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens with family at his side on Saturday, May 30, 2026, days before his 74th birthday.
Born in Chatham, Brian was the son of the late Clive and Evelyn (née Walker) King.
Beloved husband of 34 years to Kim King.
Loving father to the late Michael King (1998), Shannon Maxwell (Ryan), Jennifer King, Sara Dapueto (Peter), Lauren Baxter (Ed) and Jamie McConnell.
Proud and devoted Papa to Mason, Andrew, Lily, Miika, Sadie, Amelia, Landon and Kayden. Great-Papa to Kai.
Dear brother to Kathy MacLean (Dave) and the late Linda Kuhn (late Tom).
Son-in-law to Edith Motomura (late Monty). Brother-in-law to Mark Motomura, Bob Motomura (Rhonda) and the late Linda Shaver (Kim).
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Brian was a lifelong farmer and a Municipal Councillor for Tilbury East and Chatham-Kent for 24 years.
He enjoyed coaching travel hockey in Tilbury, was the Past President of the Tilbury Golf and Curling Club and was Past President and a Director for Kent and Essex Mutual Insurance. Brian had been the Chairman of CK Health Board and the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority. He enjoyed his time solving the world's problems at the coffee shop.
Brian will be remembered for the love he had for his family and community as well as his generosity and kindness.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm and on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10:00am until the Celebration of his Life at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Tilbury.
Special thanks to the dedicated staff at Riverview Gardens for their care and compassion over the years.
