Obituary of Eula Marie Thomson

Thomson: Eula Marie (née Carnegie)
A resident of Ridgetown, Eula Marie Thomson passed away peacefully at Village on the Ridge on June 1, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born in Palmyra, Eula was the daughter of the late William and Elva (née Goff) Carnegie.

Beloved wife of the late Angus Thomson, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Loving mother of Brenda March; Stewart Thomson and his wife Judy; and John Wayne Thomson and his wife Marina.

Cherished Grandma of James; Caitlin and Kevin; Ian and Heather; Derek and Amy; Emily and Chris; Erin and Ben; and Nicolas and Brittany. Eula was also a proud Great-Grandma to her ten beautiful great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Willard Carnegie and Ross Carnegie.

Eula was deeply devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. Throughout her life, she was actively involved in many local organizations, including the Duart community, Ladies Aid, the Duart Presbyterian Church Choir, the Duart Farm Women, the Palmyra Women's Institute, and the Highgate Fair Board. She took great pride in supporting the causes and organizations that strengthened her community. For many years, Eula could often be found alongside her husband, Angus, during his service in municipal politics. Friday and Saturday evenings were frequently spent attending community banquets, events, and gatherings, where together they proudly represented their community and fostered lasting friendships.

A woman of compassion, dedication, and service, Eula graduated from nursing school in May of 1952. She initially chose to stay home to devote herself to being a loving wife, mother, and active community advocate alongside her husband. As her children grew, she returned to her nursing career in the early 1970s, a profession that remained close to her heart. Eula was especially proud of her time as a nurse at Babcock Rest Home and in the office of Dr. Harold Orr, where her kindness, professionalism, and caring nature touched the lives of many.

Eula will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her commitment to her community, her caring spirit, and the quiet strength and grace with which she lived her life.

A private service will be held.

Donations made in memory of Eula to the Alzheimer Society Of Chatham-Kent.
