Obituary of Ruthann Haddock
Haddock: Ruthann (Cowan) -
A lifelong resident of Chatham, Ruthann Haddock passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Monday, August 3, 2026 at the age of 82.
Born in Chatham, Ruthann was the daughter of the late Thomas and Blanche (née Purdy) Cowan.
Beloved wife of the late Ron Haddock (1981) and the late Ken DeLoff (2008).
Loving mother of Charlene Vanoverbeke (late Chuck, 2011), Cheryl Haddock (late Paul Provost, 2023), the late Pamela Carey (2024) (Dave) and the late Paula Haddock (2009) (Wayne Hearn).
Proud Grandma to 9 grandchildren. Predeceased by one grandson Chad Vanoverbeke (1995).
Great-Grandma to 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons.
Dear sister to Barbara Brady (John). Predeceased by brother-in-law Larry O'Rourke (1992).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Ruthann retired from Canadian Tire after over 33 years of service.
Ruthann enjoyed knitting, Bingo, and winning big at the casino. She was a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and a bigger fan of Coca Cola, going so far as to collect an assortment of the Coca Cola merchandise.
Ruthann will be remembered for her independent nature and the love she had for her family.
As per Ruthann's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham at a later date.
Donations made in memory of Ruthann to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or CNIB would be appreciated by the family.
