In Loving Memory of Alyssa Furlotte-Harburn

It is with unimaginable sadness and broken hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Alyssa Furlotte-Harburn, age 17, on August 30, 2026.

Alyssa was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Her life was far too short, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

Alyssa loved a good adventure. She had a creative spirit and expressed herself beautifully through her art, sharing pieces of herself with the world through her own unique lens.

Like many young people, Alyssa was searching for her place in the world while carrying struggles that were not always visible. Before her passing, she was battling with her mental health. Despite the love surrounding her, her pain became too heavy to bear.

Her family hopes Alyssa’s story will encourage greater compassion, understanding and open conversations about mental health. Their greatest wish is that another young person may feel less alone, know that their struggles matter, and find the courage to reach out for help. But Alyssa was so much more than her struggles. She was adventurous, creative, loving and uniquely herself. Her family will forever cherish her laughter, silliness, artwork, conversations and all the little moments that made her who she was.

In the midst of unimaginable loss, Alyssa gave an extraordinary final gift through organ donation. She donated seven major organs, offering hope, healing and the precious gift of more time to others. Her family finds comfort knowing that a part of Alyssa will continue to live and make a difference in this world.

Alyssa will be forever loved by her parents, Sean and Jen Harburn, sister Irelynn Harburn, and brothers Dayvid Furlotte and Kingstin Harburn. She was the cherished granddaughter of Doug and Cathy Harburn and Patricia Furlotte, and a dearly loved niece to Mike (Ashley) Harburn, Susan (Ken) Hohner, Leslie William (Nathan Rastall), and the late Jackie Watson.

She will be deeply missed by her cousins Zackary, Jonathan, Benjamin, Damon, Rory, Bentley, Serenity and Hudson, along with her extended family and many friends.

A Celebration of Alyssa’s Life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street, Ridgetown, Ontario.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate Alyssa’s life. In her honour, please dress casually and wear her favourite colours, black, red, or both.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to London’s Children’s Health Foundation in Alyssa’s memory.
