ROBERTS, Mary Ellen (nee Compton): A resident of Chatham, Mary Ellen Roberts died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus, on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the age of 84. Born in Harwich Township, daughter of the late John and Sophia (Remmington) Compton. Beloved wife of Michael Roberts. Sister of Margaret and Jim Herron and Arthur Compton, all of Chatham. Aunt of Nancy and Leo Kelly of Ennismore and John and Lynne Compton of Chatham. Also survived by several great nieces and nephews; Brad, Shawna, Tracey, Derek, Kevin and Bethanie and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen was an employee of S.S. Kresge Co. of Chatham with 40 years of service. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Private Family Service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim at a later date.
