Obituary of Raymond Burns

BURNS: Raymond Harry. A resident of R.R.#1 Highgate, Raymond Burns passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the age of 65. Born in Franktown, son of the late Harry and Elsie (Kelford) Burns. Beloved husband of Ann (Jones) Burns. Dear father of Tammy Robinson and her husband Chris of Ridgetown. Grandfather of Natalie and Alyssa Robinson. Brother of Bill and Betty Burns of Smiths Falls, Audrey and Dale McDonald of Rideau Ferry, Dorothy and Donald Fleming of Smiths Falls, Allan and Sandra Burns of Smiths Falls, Alice Lewis of Smiths Falls, twin sister Ruth Jones of Ashton and her late husband Lorne, Gordon and Norma Burns of Maitland, David and Linda Burns of Alberta, Lorraine Crotty of Brockville, and Howard and Shelley Burns of Smiths Falls. Son-in-law of Mrs. Quinta Jones of Blenheim and her late husband Tom. Brother-in-law of Mona Fields of Blenheim, Tom and Jackie Jones of Chatham, and Tina and Steven Willenborg of San Francisco. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Ray will also be especially missed by Bob Ballantyne of Ridgetown. Ray retired as a Police Constable with the Ontario Provincial Police on December 31, 1995, and he had served with the Ridgetown, Blenheim, and Essex Detachments. He was a member of the East Kent Vintage Tractor Club and was a "John Deere Man". Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Friday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel Congregational Church, 92 Erie Street North, Ridgetown on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Godfrey officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations to the Duart Presbyterian Church K.R.A.M. would be appreciated.
