My condolences to John's family; I am so sorry for your loss.
I first met John almost 50 years ago; I was his sister Barb's roommate at Carleton. Throughout the years we saw each other occasionally, usually at Morley and Judy's farm in Highgate. We might not have known each other well, but I was always in awe of his courage and determination and I enjoyed his sense of humor. He endured such poor health and heartbreaking sadness in his life, but remained strong. John made a lasting impression on me. I will miss his Facebook messages; he knew what a dog lover I am and would send me funny and heartwarming dog videos even just days before the end.
I'm glad he is at peace now. I know he was ready to go.
