VIEW SERVICE LIVESTREAM

HART: Martin Eric

The family of Martin Eric Hart "Marty" are sad to announce his passing on Thursday July 6th, 2023 with his family by his side, after a very long and valiant fight with Corticobasal Degeneration, Coronary artery disease, COPD and Vancomycin resistant enterococcus. We are happy to say he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where he will have no more suffering.

Martin was born in Guildford, Surrey, England on March 15th, 1948 and moved to Canada with his family in 1957.

He was predeceased by the love of his life Pamela Jane Dobbins (2000).
His Father Eric Charles Hart (1985) and his Mother Rose Russel Hart (Fletcher) (2004).

He is survived by his step children, Stesha Dobbins of Kitchener and Kaleb Dobbins of Chatham. Also surviving are his sisters Beverley Jee (David) of Chatham, Alison Shreve (Garnet) of Blind River, and Paula Bushey (John) of Chatham, Two Brothers, Michael Hart (Tina) and Colin Hart (Sherry) both of Chatham. Predeceased by his brother Graham Hart (2005).

Sister in law Jean Hart (2020) and sister-in-law Trudy Hart (2018).

Martin was a past member of the Moose Lodge, Chatham, for many years before his illness.

He was a business man in Chatham for all his life until he couldn't work anymore. He was the owner/operator of Marty's Moving Company  in Chatham and surrounding areas and also ran The Pennypincher Antique and Second Hand Shop. He worked for many years with Don Irwin helping with his auctions etc. . . It’s safe to say Martin was never afraid to work hard or tackle anything.
Even with his many illness', he would tackle renovations in his home, cut his own grass and shovel snow until he just could not do it anymore. Having to rely on his family and many friends to help him out was hard for him to accept.
Thanks for the wonderful care given to him from the VON nurses, Bayshore PSW’s and the wonderful nurses and staff at Chatham Hospice. Also to his good friends Robbie and Kit for their love and support throughout Marty's illness.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
