Dear family of Louise,
I am saddened to hear of Louise's passing. She was an inspiration to many, encouraging people to get better at their scientific writing and critical thinking. She was wise, had a good sense of humor and taught me (and many others) a lot. I was honored to succeed her as co-chair of the council of EMDR along with Deany. She will be incredibly missed.
my sincere condolences to all who loved her.

Rest in peace my colleague and friend. From your fellow Thunder Bay gal! I will forever cherish our discussions and lunches, and the beautiful painting you painted and gifted me. I fear I will never again meet someone with such a brilliant mind, clinical prowess, and kind/generous heart! You will be deeply missed.

I want to express my deep sadness at learning of Louise's passing. I have known her from our early days and throughout the development of EMDR. She is a legend and one of the "greats" that I have had the privilege to know. She was always receptive and supportive to new ideas. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Louise's passing, and offer you the gentle sympathy of my heart for your great loss. I reached out to Louise about my fledgling research beginnings and she was totally encouraging and supportive. This reminds me that I need to report to the library my first published research. Several more papers are in the works. So look what she did for someone who NEVER expected to do research. Of course there are other cheerleaders as well, but Louise set a tone as a leader that benefitted us all. She will continue to be a true treasure in our hearts, never forgotten.

I'm very sorry for the loss of all those who knew Louise more personally than i did. I'm fortunate to have known her as a colleague in the world of EMDR, as a fellow conference go-er, but also as a person who published in the journal she steered with such extraordinary grace and intellect. sending wishes of solace and comfort to you all.

I am so sorry to hear of Louise's passing. My heart goes out to you all. Louise was a steady solid, brilliant presence in the EMDR therapy community.
She guided, coached, and supported so many of us. I will always be grateful for Louise's patient and skillful mentorship. I recall a time when I was completely stymied in writing an article. After being completely frozen I contact Louise to say, "I am sorry, but I'm not going to be able to write the article. Her response was, "Well okay, but what were you hoping to convey in the article?" After I responded (uncharacteristically succinctly) she said, "That's it! Just write THAT!" Thanks to her, I was able to complete the article and it was published soon after. She had a way of bringing out the best. I will miss seeing her at conferences and hearing (and reading) her academically grounded wisdom. I hope that you all find comfort in shared memories. -Katy Murray, Olympia, WA.
