Obituary of Sharren Eveland
Sharren Eveland (nee Steel) passed away on May 11, 2024, at the age of 73, surrounded by loved ones at the Chatham Kent Hospice. Born in Chatham on February 22, 1951, to the late J. Beverly and I. Marie Steel (nee Holmes), Sharren's journey was marked by a profound commitment to nurturing minds and hearts alike.
As a devoted educator, Sharren's impact extended far beyond the classroom, leaving an enduring legacy of kindness and wisdom. She shared a lifetime of love and devoted partnership with her late husband, Dale Eveland, and together they embraced life's joys and challenges with grace.
Sharren's unwavering devotion extended to her cherished sons, Bruce Eveland (Lenni Carreiro) and Michael Eveland (Laura Pilbeam), who will continue to carry forward her legacy with pride. She also found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Caitlyn Marie Eveland and Randall Alexander Eveland, treasuring each moment spent with them.
In addition to her immediate family, Sharren will be deeply missed by her siblings, Joanne and Paul Lennon of Calgary, Alberta, and James A. Steel of London, Ontario, along with her cherished nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends and former colleagues. Her warm smile and compassionate spirit endeared her to all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on each life she touched.
A private celebration of Sharren's life will take place this summer, culminating in her burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim. While she may be physically absent, her spirit will forever live on in the countless lives she touched with her unwavering love and guidance.
