A resident of Chatham, Robert Nicholson passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on November 5, 2023 at the age of 80.

Born in Chatham, Robert was the son of the late William Nicholson (1944) and Mary (née Hazlett) Davis (2016) and step-son to Morley Davis (1996).

Beloved husband of 60 years to Sharon (née Smyth).

Dear father to Christine Haskell (late Jake 1997), Bill and Lynda Nicholson, Matt and Lisa Nicholson. Proud grandpa to Reid and Brianne Haskell, Braeden Nicholson (Kailee), Lauren Nicholson (Matt), Emma Nicholson (Andrew), Kalyn Nicholson, Jordan Nicholson and Carter Nicholson. Great-grandpa to Watson Haskell.

Dear brother to Diane Davis, Stuart and Carol Davis, Brent and Sandy Davis, Judy Sullivan and Gail Davis.

Brother-in-law to Doug and Kathy Smyth, David Smyth, Diane and Tony Gagnon, Scott Smyth, Donna and Mel DeBoer, Paul and Lee Ann Smyth and Mark and Melody Smyth.

Bob was a former employee of Ontario Steel/Rockwell with over 30 years of service. After retirement, he spent many hours planting, weeding and watering his gardens. His life revolved around his family, spending time watching his grandchildren's activities.

Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate Robert's life will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
