Obituary of Bob Filby
Filby: Robert Sherman -
A resident of Chatham, Bob Filby passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on September 26, 2025 at the age of 82.
Born in Chatham, Bob was the son of the late Wilfred and Jean (née Sherman) Filby.
He will be reunited with his loving companion, Lorette Jackson (2016).
Loving dad to Matt (Sara) Filby, Vince Filby (Seema Madhvani), Liz Filby, and Robert Filby.
"Grandpa Filby" to Charlotte, Gemma, Bradley, and Annika Filby-Madhvani
Brother to Jack (Carol) Filby.
He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Bob loved old cars and was a member of the Kent Historic Auto Club. He owned many classic cars throughout his life, most recently his '69 Plymouth Fury and his '58 Chevy Bel Air.
Family to receive friends at the funeral home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow in Sherman Cemetery, Thamesville.
Donations made in memory of Bob to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
