Sparks-Hunter: Launa Marie -

A resident of Chatham, Launa Sparks-Hunter passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the London Health Sciences Centre - University Hospital on April 25, 2026 at the age of 52. 

Born in Chatham, Launa was the daughter of Sue Sparks (née Butler) and the late Ron Sparks (2017).

Beloved wife of Chris Hunter.

Cherished mother to Elyse and Jakob Hunter.

Dear sister to Ron Sparks Jr.

She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends, especially Susan, Andrea, Corrinne, Lisa, and Kristen.

Launa was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by her church family.

Family was extremely important to Launa and she spent the majority of her time caring for her children and her mother.

Family to receive friends at the funeral home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 100 McNaughton Ave W, Chatham on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Pardoville-Union Cemetery, Blenheim.

Donations made in memory of Launa to Autism Ontario or to Crohn's and Colitis Canada would be appreciated by the family.
